Evidence Based Enteral Nutrition Support

This master class on evidence-based enteral feeding will be introduced by Dr Marion Winkler. She a licenced and registered dietitian in the State of Rhode Island and the Immediate Past President of the Board of Directors of A.S.P.E.N. She is a Senior Clinical Teaching Associate in Surgery (Warren Alpert School of Medicine at BrownUniversity) and Surgery Nutrition Specialist (Rhode IslandHospital, Department of Surgery/ Nutrition Support).

She will in her introduction reflect on evidence-based principles with regard to enteral feeding. Thereafter a case study approach will be followed to share practical advice on nutritional issues in the ICU; to share advice on how to communicate the importance of nutrition support teams and how to set them up or make them more functional. Case studies will be made available to attendees to encourage participation and to optimize learning. She will be assisted by two registered South African dietitians, Dr Renee Blaauw and Ms Anchen Weideman.
